What you will learn and achieve through the Academy…

  • Unit Standard 15500 - Establish a presence in the real estate market
  • Unit Standard 23134 - Demonstrate knowledge of land ownership, transfer of ownership, and titles
  • Unit Standard 23135 - Demonstrate knowledge of the law of contract and the law of agency
  • Unit Standard 23136 - Demonstrate knowledge of misleading and deceiving conduct and misrepresentation
  • Unit Standard 23137 - Demonstrate knowledge of the sale and purchase agreement and facilitate sale of real estate
  • Unit Standard 23138 - Demonstrate knowledge of council zoning and building law needed to act as a real estate salesperson
  • Unit Standard 23140 - Develop marketing plans for real estate, qualify customers, and present properties for sale
  • Unit Standard 23141 - Demonstrate understanding of legal matters affecting real estate licensees
  • Unit Standard 26148 - Demonstrate knowledge and use of inspection, appraisal and agency agreement for real estate property
  • Unit Standard 26149 - Demonstrate knowledge of licensing and code of professional conduct under the Real Estate Act 2008
  • Unit Standard 26150 - Demonstrate knowledge of methods for sale of real estate in New Zealand

Programme structure

The National Certificate is a self-paced course that includes 10 written assessment activities, online interactive practise and support, 1 day in-class reinforcement training and final assessment . Upon enrolment you will have 8 months to complete the course however the average time taken to finish it is between one and three months.

Harcourts Academy Sales Programme

Harcourts offers some the most comprehensive training in the industry. On completion of the National Certificate in Real Estate (Salesperson), participants go on to complete the Harcours Academy Sales Programme. It consists of 4 days comprehensive in-class real estate training, 24 weeks one-on-one coaching in the field with the student's office manager with accompanying in the field project work, and then a final 2 days comprehensive in-class real estate training.

Programme Cost

The National Certificate in Real Estate (Salesperson) is $995 (inc. GST) for the 11 unit standards.
